Are there any personal whale watching opportunities in New Zealand?
I don’t want to go in a large group of tourists. Does anyone know of any more personal small group whale watching tours? Less commercial? Although I am also not looking to lay down a lot of dough either. I know, picky right? Anyways, I appreciate your help. Oh, and the location doesn’t matter, I’m just planning a trip next year…
Kaikoura, is the main place for whale watching in NZ.
Apart from boats you can also take plane and helicopter rides, so that can be alot more personal.
how to get a good deal on a Hawaiian vacation in 2008?
Once you decide which island you will visit, start with airfare. Go to Expedia.com and find the cheapest airfare (be flexible on departure and arrival dates, Mon, Tue, Wed are usually the cheapest) then go to the site of the cheapest airline and book from there bypassing Expedia’s profit. It is usually cheaper to book flights to Honolulu and from there on to the other islands with one of the local airlines (Hawaiian and Aloha have interisland flights for as low as $19 one way) back to Honolulu with a local airline before your flight home.
As far as accommodation go, a condo is usually much less expensive and you have a kitchen to prepare your own meals, and grills to barbeque in the evening while you watch the sunset. It is much cheaper than eating out every meal even if you just keep stocked with snacks, soft drinks, sandwich fixings, etc. There are Costco, Wal Mart and K Mart groceries as well as local markets.
An excellent place for condo rentals is VRBO.com ("vacation rentals by owner" lists hundreds of condos, time shares and houses for rent anywhere on any island at greatly reduced prices).
Check out the activities webpages for things to do and then book them yourself. Navigating on the islands is very easy, Oahu has excellent public tansprotation and very little need for a rental, the other islands will almost require a rental if you are going anywhere besides your room. Check Breezenet (bnm.com) for the lowest car rental rates and then go directly to the lowest priced website for the lowest rates.
Book as much as you can online for better pricing. Check out some of the travel forums for the best info on lodging, dining and activities such as TripAdvisor.com. You can learn and avoid mistakes made by others before you go and find out what they had interesting to say.
The islands don’t have to be so expensive to visit that you can’t enjoy all they have to offer without breaking the bank, the beauty of the island is free and the Aloha of their people will be the greatest gift you will every receive. It has to be the friendliest place on earth and the people there are far and away the most kind and sincere you will find anywhere. They are the best and are the highlight of every visit we make.

Where is the cheapest parking in birmingham city center?
I’m going to the sea life center tomorrow, where is the cheapest place to park please?
The NIA (National Indoor Arena) Multi-storey car park (off Broad Street) is very convenient to the Sea Life Centre
Just walk down to the canal and across the bridge.
I don’t know if there is anything much cheaper but there are surface car parks at the top of the same street , and possible street parking if you know your way around and are prepared to walk.
If i have a diamond shape head what hairstyle should i have?
i am blonde my current hair legnth rests between chin and shoulders got a fringe but its over grown i.e meaning long rests at bottom of eye level? any ideas?
You should wear wispy or side bangs. Don’t wear your hair too full around your cheeks. Use layers that start below your cheeks. Check this out.

What are good snorkeling vacation destinations that are closer than Hawaii?
I want to take my kids snorkeling (ages 8 and 13) for the first time. We live on the eastern seaboard (U.S.) Hawaii is a 12-hr. flight from here, minimum. Looking for somewhere to take them that is closer but has clear water and lots of fish.
Mexico ….. beautiful snorkeling at Isla Mujeres. It is a small island off of Cancun that caters to snorkelers. Beautiful coral reefs, blue water and brightly colored schools of fish. Very reasonable price wise, especially if you stay at an all inclusive where all your meals and drinks (cocktails for the adults) are included.
Still Mexico but about 1 hour south of Cancun is an island off the coast called Cozumel. Great snorkeling there as well. Lots of charters available. Probably only a 5 – 6 hour flight from the east coast. 3 1/2 hours from Ohio.
Another place to consider is Aruba… great weather all year round…outside of the hurricane belt… and the most beautiful beach (Eagel Beach) and fabulous snorkeling on reefs and sunken ships. Fabulous, but 3 times more expensive than Mexico.
Where in San Diego can we ride horses on the beach and go whale watching?
My caughter has always wanted to ride horses on the beach and I’ve always wanted to go on a whale watching tour. Where can we do that in San Diego? Preferably close to each other.
This is the only place I know of in San Diego where you can take the horses onto the beach:
Beach Horse Rentals
2060 Hollister St.
Imperial Beach
San Diego, CA 92154
619/559-2235
You can observe the whales migrating from Cabrillo National Monument in the Point Loma area of San Diego.
If you want to go out on a boat whale watching excursion, there are a number of boat tour companies that have whale watching tours. You will find a list of them with info and links to their web sites at: http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/San-Diego-cruises.html
A Hawaiian vacation! How much?
I am thinking about surprising my fiances with a trip to hawaii for our honeymoon. I have looked at travel sites but I don’t know what is a scam, what is good, etc. I would rather find a nice resort. Does anyone know how much it will cost? Also, if you have gone to hawaii and enjoyed a particular place I would love to hear about it.
I think Maui is the best island for honeymooners in Hawaii. It is more secluded and more romantic. It can also be slightly more expensive, but worth it if you can swing it.
Honolulu/Waikiki Beach can be cheaper but it is more "touristy" and has a lot more tourist to make for a romantic getaway. There are some great tourist spots there though like Pearl Harbor, but on a honeymoon, that may not be important to you.
Check out a few pictures and read a few reviews about the top Hawaii destinations for honeymooners and you should find the perfect match for your trip. There are plenty of great resorts in Hawaii for your enjoyment.
Oh, I highly recommend a nice spa treatment on the beach during your trip. Heavenly!!

Living in Oahu (one of the Hawaiian Islands) are there bridges that connect Oahu to all the other islands?
Or do you have to fly to the other Hawaiian Islands?
Sounds like a stupid question, but I’ll be moving there soon and was wondering if there were bridges connecting to the other islands or not.
Ok, so if there are no bridges, how do you visit the other islands? You’d have to fly, right?
NOT a stupid question. I think it is a great question, I get what you mean, but No, there are no Bridges linking the Islands. Most people fly Inter-Island..I think a ticket to do that is about $100.00(at least it was last time I was there in May). Then there is The Hawaii Super-Ferry that runs twice a day between Maui and Oahu and I believe it is a 3 hour trek. So not to worry you will be able to get around! ~~Aloha~~E Komo Mai~~
