Hawaii to the mainland?

I’m 14 and I have lived in waianae, Hawaii all my life.Waianae isnt really a place you would call paradise when you look at waikiki or kona or lahaina. Its not a very good place to grow up in.My mom complains about it all the time.I love my hometown but I agree with her 100%.
I wanna get out of here. I want to see new places, get a better education(Waianae has a very low education level). But My parents might have a hard time accepting this idea and if they do where do they go when we get there? They’re both in their 50’s and my mom is a foster mom and my dad is a mason.I really like the sound of moving to the san jose area. But I’m stuck in this situation. How should I tell what I Want and what details should i bring tothem about jobs and stuff?

move to the mainland, better opportunities, less crime, better education. Waianae coast is tough area, expand your horizons, get off the rock. Ali’i area, Nanakuli, etc… San Jose, very expensive place to live, better in LA area. i can garins youd be better off in the mainland. most people move to hawaii to get away from something, but you are young and you are the future….

Best whale watching cruise company in Bay of Fundy?

We don’t know whether to plan our trip to include Digby, NS or St. Andrews, NB or another city out of which we can catch a whale watching tour. Which touring company has the best reputation for sighting whales?

I agree with the previous response of Pirates Cove on Brier Island (not fare from Digby) there is also http://www.fundytiderunners.com/
which a friend swears by but The idea of a noisy fast zodiac doesn’t seem to set the right scene

Is there a difference between polynesian and hawaiian clothes?

My wife and I are vacationing in Tahiti and my wife says we need to buy polynesian clothes for the trip. I have lots of hawaiian shirts and shorts so what’s the difference?

Yes, they are as different as these two groups of people – polynesian and hawaiian – are!

Perfect Hawaiian Vacation?

My family and I (My parents and my brother and I, we’re both 18) are hoping to visit Hawaii in the next couple of months for the ultimate vacation. Both my brother and I will be leaving the country for 2 years so we’re hoping to get in a great vacation before we go.

I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer:

1) What are the must-see attractions aside from the most obvious (like Pearl Harbor, The beaches, volcanoes, etc), like any hidden treasures?
2) Where should we stay? Any specific resorts that are really good?
3) Any really good tours that are really fun?
4) Anything we should watch out for?

Thanks for your time, any information you can provide would be great.

If you are going to Honolulu go to the Polynesian Cultural Center it is a lot of fun and go to the luau at the end of the evening. I’m 18 too and I went there for spring break this year. I was against going to the Cultural Center but it was a lot of fun. Be sure to go snorkeling too. Whale watching was a lot of fun as well. Whale season starts in October of November I think. There is also a great snorkeling beach on Maui I’m not sure what it is but if you ask around I’m sure that you can find it. They make you watch a video that’s about five minutes long before you can snorkel but we saw sea turtles while we were snorkeling. In Honolulu we stayed at the Marriott the beds were really comfortable and there were two pools. At your hotel they will help you find tours to sign up for there are a lot to choose from. I was only in Honolulu for three days then I went to Maui which is much more laid back, and there are not as many people. I suggest Honolulu because the cultural center and the snorkeling beach are great. I hope that helps

Cruise Ship around the Hawaiian Islands?

I’m looking for a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. In other words, you sleep on the ship and they take you to the next island to tour the next day. It eliminates inter-island flying & checking in & out of hotels.

I’ve heard of this. Has anyone else ?

NCL has 3 cruise ships that serve Hawaii. I know that Celebrity and RCCL also has cruise ships which cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. Check Travelzoo.com for deals sometimes the cruise companies will offer specials like free airfare from California.

Any tips on cool things to do and see on the Big Island?

My boyfriend and I will be visiting the Big Island in May. I’m looking for fun things to do and see. Any helpful information would be appreciated.

What are some jobs that allow me to interact with exotic animals?

I live in san diego and I’m looking for jobs other than the san diego zoo.

I already know about wildlife rehabilitation centers which i think would be cool to work at but I don’t know what requirements you would need to work there.

If there is a specific wild life rehabilitation center then you can put it other wise I’m looking for jobs other than the zoo, wild animal park, sea world, and wildlife rehabilitation centers?

Travel overseas and do some voluntary work with animal missions etc

Friend of mine went to Kenya to help out the rangers in Tsavo National Park

Does diamond head in hawaii have diamonds in the ground?

Where are the best snorkeling sites in the Visayas, Philippines?

My girl and I are going to be in the Philippines in July. We’ll be contending with the rainy season, but we’re hoping to do a lot of snorkeling (NOT scuba diving) when the sun comes out. Where are the best places to snorkel in the Visaya islands?

Apo Island, Moalboal Cebu, Bohol and many many more.

Mactan is not a good place to snorkel the water is very unhealthy.

Have you ever thought of doing SCUBA? You can take a short class called Resort Dive via PADI and do a simple safe dive in less than 5m of water.

On Dec. 6, a team from NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, NOAA’s Pacific Islands Regional Office, and Hawaii’s Department of Land and Natural Resources successfully freed a young humpback whale that had become dangerously entangled in rope.
