Help please…we’re planning a Hawaiian vacation after our kids graduate from middle and HS…?
We want to go to Waikiki and Kaanapali and stay in an upscale vacation condo at both places? My husband and I have not been there since 1984…any suggestions? Thanks!
Also- if there is a new/better area in Maui to visit/stay at – please tell me that, too! But we really liked Kaanapali.

Hawaiian vacation suggestions
My wife and I may be traveling to Hawaii later this year and I’m looking for recommendations from couples who have vacationed there without kids. This will be our first vacation away from our little one and we would love to hit the some great spots. Thanks.

The Big Island (Hawaii, kona-side) is my usual recommendation for a one stop island. It’s got the biggest variety: great hikes, waterfalls, volcano, black sand beaches…ect. Plus the beaches are really safe and really great. (City of Refuge, + the museum that’s there; kayak across Kealakekua bay to Captain Cook’s monument (pack a picnic!); BUT the volcano’s putting on a show, and the air quality is kinda crappy right now. It may get better in a month or two, or it may not…so if you’ve got asthma, I’d skip this one for now, just in case.
Romantic couple stuff: Kauai, definitely. Maybe Maui, but I think you’ll end up spending more. Either Island, I definitely recommend on of those zodiac tours around the island + snorkeling. Do eat at Roys Resturant, they have one on Maui and Oahu for sure: some of the best food in the island.
Spend less on the hotel, on more on food and entertainment, I’d say.
Oh, erm…and shag in a rainforrest. There’s nothing like it. 
Just bring a towel.
Advice on Hawaiian vacation?
Does anyone one know any good B&B’s in Hawaii? The Big Island?
Trying to plan a vacation and would prefer to stay at a Bed and Breakfast instead of a hotel. Any advice or helpful websites? Thanks!
B&Bs are nice… way better than a hotel. But what about a vacation rental home? I know a great site with tons of options on the Big Island. Owner Direct Vacation Rentals. What do these Hawaiian words on my shirt mean?
My aunt and uncle just got back from a Hawaiian vacation. They brought me back a t-shirt for my birthday.
On the shirt, there’s a turtle and a moon, and the words "E malama o ke kai". I don’t speak Hawaiian.
What do those words mean?
It’s a lovely shirt, and I’m fairly sure that it’s not just a bunch of nonsense or something like "This person is a tourist."
I just want to know so when people ask me I can tell them instead of looking stupid.
No it doesn’t say anything like "hi, I only have one testicle"… but the malamalama is care, and o is of , and ke is the , and kai is water or ocean. The guy above said it right.
