I need some advice for my Hawaiian vacation.?

My wife and I want to plan a trip to Hawaii for this June, but we have never been anywhere in that state. Where do we need to go (which island)? Any suggestions on hotels/resorts or activities to do while there? Here are the activities and qualities that are most appealing to us.

romantic atmosphere, not a lot of very young children around, maybe a nice spa experience, possibly a trip to scenic locations like waterfalls or volcanoes, a nice beach

Any suggestions? Any places that we should eliminate from consideration? All input is appreciated. Thanks.

Kauai is the best island for you based on the activities and qualities you mentioned. I’ve been to Oahu and Maui as well, but liked Kauai the very best for scenery, hiking, uncrowded and absolutely beautiful. It’s easy to drive to the various scenic spots. Some roads are narrow and one lane over bridges so don’t expect to drive fast and you really won’t enjoy the scenery if you do.

Which of the Hawaiian Island is most popular to visit while vacationing at the Hawaiian islands?

I am planning a trip to go to Hawaii this summer and I would like to know which of the Hawaiian islands is the most popular island to visit while vacationing there.

Oahu is first, Maui second in total visitor arrivals (many visitors do land at HNL and immediately take a plane to other islands). Canadians are actually more likely to visit Maui, while Japanese tourists are much more likely to visit Oahu. Tourists come from Japan to golf and shop, and Honolulu’s Ala Moana Shopping Center increasingly caters to Japanese shoppers in search of relative bargains in designer labels.

1,893,800 visitors arrived on Maui in 2009. 5,725 visitors came to Maui from Japan in December. 44,153 visited Maui from the US east coast, 75,992 from the west coast.

Oahu’s total arrivals were 4,032,198 in 2009. In December, 106,211 arrivals came from the west coast of the US, 80,226 from the east coast, 97,956 from Japan.

Hawaii Vacation Pride of America Cruise NCL

We took Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) Pride of America ship around the Hawaiian Islands May 16-23, 2009. What an amazing trip! This very short video shows a recap of this one week adventure in a tropical paradise.

Starting in Honolulu, we travel to Maui, Hilo and Kona on the big island, Kauai and back to Honolulu. From ziplining in the mountains, snorkeling in a coral reef, watching steam from the top of volcanoes, seeing lava flow into the ocean, fire dancing at a luau and passing the Na Pali coast, this is the trip of a lifetime.

As if the sights were not enough, the entire crew at NCL and the tour operators at every port have a tremendous spirit of service and aloha. They truly make you feel like family and go out of their way to serve above and beyond expectations.

how fast can you lose weight and be healthy?

My husband just surprised me with a Hawaiian vacation, but the problem is it is in 3 weeks! If I joined a gym and worked out regularly can I lose any weight in that time period? I am not too bad overweight I just want to lose some weight from my butt and thighs mostly. Thanks!

You can’t just lose weight off your "butt and thighs mostly." It depends on where your body wants to take it from.

Yes, you can lose weight in 3 weeks. Just eat properly (don’t starve yourself or you’ll retain fat) and exercise 6 days a week, doing solid weight training (not "I do arm exercises for 10 minutes" but actual, no BS weight training) and follow it up with cardio.

When you get back from Hawaii, keep it up so you don’t get into another "OMG I NEED TO LOSE" situations.
