What can I do to see clearly underwater when snorkeling aside from prescription goggles which are too expensv?

I have a 150 vision. Ive tried snorkeling and I couldnt see a thing. what can I do??? are there any special contact lenses ?

http://www.aclens.com/da.asp?MID=70&ID=71

^ There are reasonably priced prescription goggles.

Contact lenses are never safe when swimming. Because your contacts are essentially sponges, in water they become sponges to pool chemicals and bacteria- not a good mix.

How is the Snorkeling in The Turks and Caicos?

My family and I are staying at the Ocean Club West in the Provodenciales. Is the Water Calm? It there alot of marine life at the surface? We will be going SCUBA diving too, but when we arent we are going to be snorkeling. Is it comparable to Aruba? Thanks!

It’s far better than Aruba. The Turks and Caicos are some of the best islands in the Caribbean. Be sure to take an underwater camera because you will be blown away by some of the marine life you will get to see. Most of the good marine life you want to see won’t be at the surface…. but a few feet down and then some. Parts of the ocean aren’t very deep so you can snorkel down about 10 ft. in parts and you will be amazed. Have fun…. you are going to love it!

Does anyone know which of these mexico cities has the best snorkeling area?

I am going on a Mexico Riveria Cruise this coming weekend. Would like to know which of these port of call cities have the best snorkeling spots. The port cities are: Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. I have a party of 10 people and would like to go on a private boat charter. Would you please provide the links to the online deals for private boat charter for snorkeling for the above port cities? Thanks in advance.

I think Puerto Vallarta.

There’s an area of rock formations called "Los Arcos" that’s a popular snorkling spot and there are plenty of tour boats that will take you out there. It’s also possible to hire a lancha from the boat docks at Playa las Olas (aka, Playa Muertos).

Have fun!

Snorkeling Cinnamon Bay – St. John, USVI

Located on the Northshore of St. John, Cinnamon Bay is one of the most popular beaches on the island. Today we snorkeled out and around Cinnamon Cay, a couple of hundred yards off the beach. Reef fish galore along with, Spanish Makerel, Parrot Fish, and Barracuda. All in a days fun in the sun. We finish off the day with a cigar at sunset on Vie’s Beach Campground, 340-693-5033, only $35.00 per night, the best accomodations deal on the island. What kind of snorkel do you wear when you go snorkeling?

I would like to know so that when I go snorkeling I will know what kind of snorkels there are.

I kinda don’t get your question, but for snorkels, it just has the Mask goggles and the breathing tube for your mouth. You can look them up on google too. There aren’t a variety of snorkels, because its just a mask and breathing tube, along with fins.

Where is the best resort for snorkeling and free diving in Egypt?

I am thinking about going to Egypt and would like to know what each resort is like for snorkeling. I would like to know what you can see there and the habitat as well.

I go to Na’ama, and stay at the Sofitel, which is great for snorkelling and freediving. Dahab is the freediving centre, but it’s a bit less developed and a bit more bohemian. There are good boat trips out to the other reefs, like Ras Mohamed and the Tiran Islands. All have excellent shallow reefs that are easy to explore without SCUBA.

My advice is to stay at the most expensive hotel that you can afford, in order to minimize your chances of getting the local gut-rot. Staying at a cheaper place may look a good idea, but not when you have to spend a week ‘confined to barracks’.
