Anyone out there climbed Diamond Head in Hawaii and if so how did you feel?
Were you not snookered?
Sorry I did mean walk or hike Diamond Head..I’m Scottish
nice view when you get to the top but it’s kinda crowded. also, it’s funny watching all the Japanese women hike in high heels and skirts. not sure what’s up with that.

I just did that on 11/30. I’m 49 years old, in moderate shape, and once or twice I thought I was going to have to quit. But my 61 year old "we can do anything" husband just kept going and I couldn’t let him beat me to the top!
The view is amazing, and I would definitely do it again. Not sure what snookered means, but I think after the climb, I probably was!!
EDIT: Let me add that I’ve had 5 knee surgeries (3 on one, 2 on the other) so climbing steps make them feel like jello.

If you are in decent shape it is not a bad climb. I am in my 50’s & unless it is really hot, it doesn’t give me any trouble. But if you have health problems, it may not be a good idea. Periodically they do have to helicopter people off.

I’ve done it 3 times and my 7 year old son climbed Diamond Head for the first time in March. It’s not a tough hike at all. The 99 steps at the end made me winded, but it’s SO worth it when you get to the top! Absolutely gorgeous, and it’s fun to know that you were able to do that climb when you’re all finished.

Climb? Or do you mean hiked up. Its not as scary as it used to be. They never had lights in the tunnels before, so you needed a flashlight or just follow the small light at the end of the tunnle if you didn’t have one. Always a fun walk. Great scenery at the end of it.
