I need some advice for my Hawaiian vacation.?

My wife and I want to plan a trip to Hawaii for this June, but we have never been anywhere in that state. Where do we need to go (which island)? Any suggestions on hotels/resorts or activities to do while there? Here are the activities and qualities that are most appealing to us.

romantic atmosphere, not a lot of very young children around, maybe a nice spa experience, possibly a trip to scenic locations like waterfalls or volcanoes, a nice beach

Any suggestions? Any places that we should eliminate from consideration? All input is appreciated. Thanks.

Kauai is the best island for you based on the activities and qualities you mentioned. I’ve been to Oahu and Maui as well, but liked Kauai the very best for scenery, hiking, uncrowded and absolutely beautiful. It’s easy to drive to the various scenic spots. Some roads are narrow and one lane over bridges so don’t expect to drive fast and you really won’t enjoy the scenery if you do.

I’m staying near Houston, Texas, soon, and wondered if there was anywhere nearby that I can visit for whale watching in the Gulf of Mexico?

You can go watching but you will not see any whales here, sorry. Try California.

Will volcanos destroy the Hawaiian Islands or will the islands sink?
If so, how?

First, islands *never* "sink." They can be eroded into coral atolls and guyots, but they do not sink.

Now, volcanoes? They both create and destroy. Right this second, Kilauea is creating land off the eastern side of the Big Island. Also right this moment, the Loihi Seamount is being created off of its southeast side, and in hundreds or thousands of years will be our 50th state’s newest tourist spot.

However, they can erupt explosively, even in Hawaii. Particularly the five volcanoes of the Big Island, which are the only active volcanoes in the chain. As long as pressure can build, they can blow, and blow large chunks, if things built up enough.

This is true for all volcanoes, though some are more likely than others. Stromboli, Kilauea, the fissures of Iceland… probably won’t blow. But the volcanoes of Indonesia, the Philippines, the Andes and Cascades… they could all blow themselves apart.

Is black sand beach in Big Island kind to the feet?

Is there any camping on the Big Island – Hawaii?

actuyally green sand beach is much better but requires a 2 mile hike or 4wd vehivle to get to it, but the walk in is very easy..black sand beach was rather small and was mostly black cliffs abve the surf with some small beaches in between..

I’m not a big hiker, is the Diamond Head worth it?

I don’t really enjoy hiking, but from everything I’ve heard about the Diamond Head it sounds really interesting. Is it a hard hike? Is it actually as interesting and "must-see" as it is made out to be? I had terrible hiking experiences as a child that have kinda soiled the whole idea of hiking to me but Hawaiian hiking may be worth trying it again. Just looking for some opinions.

I HATE to hike. I’m overweight too, and I’ve done this hike three times. I love it! It’s a bit of a climb getting to the top — including 99 steps built right into the crater — but the views from the top are outstanding. It’s SO worth it, IMO. If you decide to go, take at least one bottle of water per person and a good camera. Regular old tennis shoes are fine for this hike. I have done it every time in either Tevas or rubber slippers and have been just fine, but I wear rubber slippers every day of my life so I’m used to them.

A. Gastropoda.
B. Cephalopoda
C. Polyplacophora
D. Polychaeta.
E. Bivalvia.

cephalopoda,its the only class that has well developed eyes and also tentacles.
