Hawaii Vacation Pride of America Cruise NCL
We took Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) Pride of America ship around the Hawaiian Islands May 16-23, 2009. What an amazing trip! This very short video shows a recap of this one week adventure in a tropical paradise.
Starting in Honolulu, we travel to Maui, Hilo and Kona on the big island, Kauai and back to Honolulu. From ziplining in the mountains, snorkeling in a coral reef, watching steam from the top of volcanoes, seeing lava flow into the ocean, fire dancing at a luau and passing the Na Pali coast, this is the trip of a lifetime.
As if the sights were not enough, the entire crew at NCL and the tour operators at every port have a tremendous spirit of service and aloha. They truly make you feel like family and go out of their way to serve above and beyond expectations.

Maui Baby Green Sea Turtle Rescue
Aloha All – I shot video of a Green Sea Turtle rescue project at around 6PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Two nests that had hatched naturally a week before were excavated for research and rescue purposes. The nests were on Maui Coastal Land Trust property at the Waihe’e Coastal Dunes and Wetlands Refuge. State of Hawaii Dept. of Land & Natural Resources Division of Aquatic Resources Marine Biologist Skippy Hau was in charge of the project and was assisted by Cheryl King of the Hawaiian Wildlife Fund. 15 baby Green Sea Turtles were rescued and about 150 to 200 empty shell casings were collected.
I shot over an hour of miniDV tape and edited out this 9 minute 50 second clip for YouTube airing.

Aloha Airline’s Last Day, March 31st 2008
It is still hard to believe… on March 31st, Aloha Airlines flew its last fight. Val (FA for 15yrs) joined employees and friends on the last round trip flight to Kona to say their goodbyes. Upon their return to HNL, they, along with many others in the Aloha family, awaited the arrival of flight #261 from Maui, the very last Aloha Airlines flight. These are the some of images captured by Val on that last day.
